Throw the rescue sling

Remove the rescue sling marked 2 from the case.
Accelerate your vessel and maintain a slow speed: < 1kn.
Throw the rescue sling into the water. The rescue sling must be thrown from the side of the vessel you wish to recover the MOB*.
Make a line connection with the MOB* and take care not to run over the floating line.
As soon as the MOB* has contact with the floating line, stop the vessel.
Wait until the MOB* is attached to the end of the floating line.
The MOB* has two options:
- He attaches the red carabiner to the lifting point of the lifejacket.
- He puts the rescue sling around his upper body and pulls it under his armpits.
If visibility is poor or at night, the MOB* can signal that attachment has been made by using the signal whistle on the rescue sling.

IMPORTANT: Only after the MOB* is attached to the end of the floating line may step 3 begin.

*The abbreviation MOB (Man Overboard) refers to a person who has accidentally fallen into the water from a watercraft.
